How to Save Money

Checking over your cable t.v. bill, dining out less often plus some other ways you may not have considered such as how much your phone is costing you and viable alternatives.

You can start by doing things that will also help our planet. These things could also benefit your household such as:

* borrow books from the library (that's a free community service)

*eat less meat and buy from local farmers when possible

*skip the bottled water by using a water filter

*save water with low-flow shower heads, faucet aerators and/or shorter showers

*make your own cleaning supplies such as using baking soda, vinegar, soap and lemon

*bring your own travel mug to Starbucks (and save 10 cents each time), admittedly cutting out Starbucks altogether may not be an option. (we say we will, but what consumers say and what they do can be two different things). It is not about restricting yourself completely, but just cutting back where possible without feeling much of the pinch.

-Going back to making your own filtered water instead of using plastic bottled water though is a great habit since there are also possible health risks from improperly stored bottled water (that either gets too hot or too cold) plus the millions of tons of plastic bottles that unnecessarily pollute our environment.

*Stop buying air fresheners, they can also release hazardous chemicals into your home. Just open your windows and let some free fresh air in!
If there is still a lingering smell, it is best to find and treat the source.
