Save Money Tips

We have mentioned some of these tips throughout the site and others are updated as we hear about them for you. Here are some money saving tips others have shared or are using.

Cut out Bottled Water. Sure the filters that are used to filter water in pitchers or in refrigerators also need to be discarded, but pound for pound that is far less waste than the plastic bottles would have been and they can be recycled as well. Refrigerator filters also last for many months before needing to be exchanged. Saves Money, Better for the Environment, a positive step.

Cut out Dryer Sheets- You can add 1/2 cup distilled vinegar or 1/4 cup of baking soda to the laundry instead. If you want to give the clothes or sheets a scent, you can use a washcloth with some essential oil on it and put that in your dryer.

You can reuse shopping bags for small garbage cans instead of just relying on the larger trash bags.

Do you really need all of those cable TV premium channels? Or just cut the cable TV altogether for awhile. Internet TV is getting better all the time and that will inevitably be the future in a couple of years.

Use the library instead of buying many books, dvds and magazines.

Use newspaper instead of paper towels to clean windows. Some use vinegar/water mixture instead of windex as well.

Smart Shopping
